Friday December 11th witnessed the start of the 11th BMW Egypt golf tournament which took place at the Katameya Heights Golf and Tennis Resort. The Tournament was first established in Germany in 1987 and BMW Golf Cup International tournament considered to be one of the world's largest amateur golf series worldwide. The tournament attracts more than 100,000 of the best amateur golfers from 42 countries annually.
The qualifications of the BMW Golf Cup is hosted annually by Bavarian Auto Group in Egypt and subsequently the qualified players will play in BMW International Golf Cup in South Africa.Holding this annual tournament reflects BMW’s vision in which sports are a key element to the concept of “Joy”, a value BMW endorses worldwide. This is also conveyed successfully by Bavarian Auto Group here in Egypt, which holds “Qualifications for the International BMW Golf Cup” every year believing that sports has the ability to gather different people in a positive & joyful environment.As a matter of fact, the “BMW International Golf Cup Tournament” is considered to be one of the most important golf tournaments in the world. In Egypt, more than 120 golfers participated coming from different Clubs all over Egypt such as El Katameya Club, El Gezera, Sporting (Alex), Mirage, Porto Marina, Stella de Mare, Orange Lake, Dream Land and Golf City.
BMW Surprises Spectators
To boost “JOY” to the max, Bavarian Auto Group was keen on entertaining its
guests and attendees. It displayed during the event an array of its unique BMW models starting from the 3 Series, 5 series, X3, and topped them with its dazzling 7 series.And to add the cherry on top, BMW offered the attendees test drives. Bavarian Auto Group provided the sporty BMW 318i and 320i, the525i attracting those who like to combine a sporty look with luxury, and others had their taste of adventure test driving BMW X3. The Joyful experience was sealed by taking the 750Li for a spin, enjoying ultimate levels of luxury and sheer driving pleasure.

The whole place was simply BMW to the bone, with a branded entrance,
ushers, courses were marked at every hole with BMW flags and even golf balls were branded with BMW details.
Winners Receive Valuable Prizes
A splendid dinner and prize-giving ceremony took place after the tournament.
The championship qualifying winners received valuable BMW prizes handed by Bavarian Auto Group’s Chairman Mr. Farid el Tobgui and in 2010 the players will fly to South Africa where the BMW International Golf Cup Tournament finals will kick off 1st of March till the 6th.
The Winners traveling to the South Africa finals are Mohamed Zewar (group A), Tarek Karawya (group B, and Mona Abu el Fatah won first place for the ladies. In the end, all players expressed their Joy in participating in such a well
organized tournament qualifications event and outlined their appreciation for BMW and that Bavarian Auto Group never failed to exceed expectations.
